Catherine’s place was the perfect spot for a long weekend getaway – peaceful, private, and cozy. We loved both the location and the cabin itself – everything you need is there to make you feel right at home. Bonus points for the comfy bed and lounge chairs in the garden – we did not want to leave, and are already looking forward to coming back 🙂 we did not meet Catherine in person, but she was very quick to respond to messages and made our stay feel seamless.

I’m familiar with the area and wanted a self-contained, private space within walking distance of the village. The shepherds hut was perfect for me. Totally private on a rural road near the edge of the village, so hardly anyone passing by, but only about 12 mins walk from the village hall or either of the restaurants. There is a small garden to enjoy the afternoon sun, and inside was immaculate and looks recently done. Underfloor heating made it toasty; the shower cubicle was a decent size with nice hot water and good pressure. The bed was super comfortable. Catherine was friendly, made me feel really welcome, and was accessible for any questions. This is my first ever Airbnb experience, and it went so well!!

We spent 4 nights in La Cabane without any problems. Everything was as described. The underfloor heating is very nice, the bedding is very good, the nights are quiet, no noise, the accommodation is perfectly clean and well placed to reach Morzine, Avoriaz or Les Gets. The first shops are in St Jean d’Aulps, you can get there quickly and you can find everything you need (a large Carrefour, a good bakery, etc.) We didn’t see Catherine but were able to communicate without problem because she is very responsive, which matters a lot. She answered all our questions, even brought an extra chair for my daughter who came to dinner one night.

A very nice cocoon in this very well laid out little cabin. We spent a few relaxing days in the Chablais. The housing is very well placed. We were able to shine nearby and take beautiful hikes. Catherine is very friendly and the accommodation was perfect! We are used to leaving to visit new regions and I confess that this cabin is in the top of the accommodations we have already done. if you are looking for calm, and being surrounded by the mountains then go for it!!!!!

We had a very pleasant weekend in Catherine’s trailer, lulled by the sound of the surrounding river: the accommodation is full of charm, very clean, it feels right away good, and everything is thoughtfully thought out. Everything was impeccable. Very nice warm caravan, new and high quality facilities (shower, kitchen, etc.), which makes the stay really very comfortable, very comfortable bed, neat decor, everything was very functional and easy – and the underfloor heating really makes a difference! Very friendly hosts, available, responsive and very attentive. We felt great. Pleasant, peaceful environment, close to the river whose sound is heard, and 20 minutes from Morzine-Avoriaz where all winter sports activities are available. Services (pharmacy, bakery, supermarket, etc…) easily accessible also by car.

I was looking for a secluded, private reflection time in the mountains, and that is exactly what Catherine’s place provided and more. The hut is cozy and warm with a great kitchen and bathroom (with a wonderful shower), it is within driving distance of all manner of attractions and sights either in the mountains and ski resorts or lakeside on Lake Geneva, and it is all provided for by a welcoming and friendly host. I enjoyed my time there immensely and will absolutely be looking to return. This place is the very definition of a hidden gem.

Myself and my partner stayed here and absolutely adored this little place, it was super clean, perfectly described and Catherine was so friendly and attentive! The hut had everything we needed, and it felt the perfect size, not too small! The outdoor seating area is a gorgeous touch, from here you can hear the river below you, it’s incredibly peaceful and calm. We came to the Shepherds hut as we were skiing in the morzine, avoriaz area. You will need a car in order to get to the car park, top tip, get there pre 10am to get a space at ardent car park during busy periods! Once again, thank you Catherine! Hope to see you soon.

Access and location

You’ll have your own road access, located along a dead end road, so the shepherd’s hut is completely private and not overlooked in any direction.
